Hi - I wonder if anyone in this group can advise? I am stuck somewhere between b12 deficiency nerve damage and raynauds? Does anything in thread below make any sense from a raynauds perspective? Has anyone had b12 deficiency trigger raynauds? And do all the screening tests I've had done make scleroderma unlikely? Thank-you x

B12 deficiency and raynauds
Hi,
It's unlikely to be anything else if the testing was ok, but from what I understand B12 deficiency can make you feel horrible and can cause peripheral neuropathy so it could be that the nerves in your fingers are interfering with the circulation. You might need an endoscopy to check your stomach lining as generally b12 deficiency is due to absorption issues.
True, but B12 can also be from a B12-deficient diet, usually otherwise healthy vegetarian, as most B12 comes from animal proteins (and fortified grain foods).
Hi everyone thanks for the comments! Thought I'd keep it updated in case any of this is useful for someone with similar issues in the future.
At the moment there is definite improvement. I'm about a month out from loading jabs and have topped up sporadically with a b12 oral spray. I dont have any cold in my toes and there is some improvement in the fine sensation between my toes on the right foot. My fingers though still too pink and with some wrinkling in the cold are on the whole much more resistant and improved. They also feel different (hard to explain) but I forget now for hours theres a problem, absolutely couldn't do that before as they always felt sore or weird. Hyperpigmentation I had on my face for 3 years is fading and my periods are now totally normal. Rash under arms is now almost totally gone. My nail colours are improved slightly but still look too naff. GP's verdict was to give it a few months to see what b12 had done and then a rheumatologist if no improvement. So fingers crossed although I think I had a tendency to have very mild raynauds prior to this, b12 deficiency somehow triggered more extreme symptoms which I think are going. Re origin of b12 I tested negative for pernicious anemia but I understand it can have false negatives often. Personally I think 10 years off PPI's and then 5 of dairy free caused issue.
Hi there my dad suffered with b12 deficiency and had injections 3 monthly,he also always complained of cold fingers and toes, I have raynaurds and do think he also had it. Dad also had iron deficiency so it does make you wonder if it is all interconnected. Happy that it's all sounding positive and I am hoping that it keeps this way. Take care 👍😁
