Does anyone know of anywhere in or around London/Surrey where I can get one of these tests done privately? My Rheumy's idea of doing one was to glance at my fingers, but I have read medical articles suggesting that these should be done using a Ophthalmoscope or traditional microscope rather than the naked eye.
Can a (private) GP clinic do this sort of thing, or should it be done by a Rheumy?

Its done with equipment, there is no way to look closely at capillaries without something to magnify the small vessels. I dont think its part of a GP's practice. Wow.
Many thanks for the reply. The nhs rheumy I saw also told me it was impossible for me to have tennis elbow in both elbows at the same time and that it must be fibromyalgia, so I promptly paid for a private scan at the consultant radiologist could see it was tennis elbow straight away. My thinking is that if i pay to get a capillary test done, i can take both of the privately done reports to my gp so he can send me to a specialist sclerodera rheumy. My rheumy seems to think my lethargy and morning joint pain is one thing, and my raynaurds is just raynaurds and my positive ana with a 1:1280 titre is a false pisitive. Call me Miss picky, but I think my local hospital has employed a lemon, or the ceo has told doctors not to dianose until they absolutely have to!
