Im not sure weather I keep having extreme raynaulds attacks in my breasts and nipples .. As I'm only 9 weeks pregnant, I think its way to early for them to start growing and effecting me they way they are .. This didn't happen with my last two children, but that was 19 years ago and 21 years ago.. Since then I ve had my breast inlargered.. My breasts haven't had bad attacks like this before so bit worried as they can get so painful but im getting it a few times a day .. sorry if this is a bit all over the place ..

Hi .. Has anyone else had rayaulds attacks on there nipples and breasts.. And how have they handled pregnancy
Yes you absolutely can get Raynaud's in your nipples during pregnancy and it is more likely to happen in people who have had breast surgery in the past. I'm assuming you have Raynaud's elsewhere as most people wouldn't think of it in the breasts! If you are getting extremely painful attacks when you are exposed to cold, the nipples go white then maybe blue then red on rewarming and the pain goes when you warm up, there isn't much else which causes that pattern of symptoms. You can avoid attacks by staying warm (wear lots of layers, avoid temperature changes e.g. getting out of hot showers, freezer sections of supermarkets....) and treat them by warming up. This is enough to control it in most people. If you need medicine to control it, I'm not sure if you can take nifedipine in pregnancy but it shouldn't be hard for your doctor to find out. If you are in any doubt or if staying warm doesn't control the pain, it's worth seeing your GP or rheumatologist. Most GPs don't know that Raynaud's can affect the nipples though, so you may need to convince them. I hope it settles soon!
