Hi Folks, Our last meeting had to be postponed so we have decided to do it again on a sunday when no work can obstruct us. we have a date and venue for our next meeting in Birmingham. It's on Sunday 14th April 2019 at 11.30am. It'll be in the restaurant of John Lewis, 2 Station Street Birmingham West Midlands B2 4AU. We held our last meeting there and was a lovely chilled out coffee and chat, it's situated on level 4, very easy to get to, just staight up the esculators. One of the entrances to John Lewis is in the grand central train station so easy to find. You're more than welcome to come and join us for a coffee/tea and a chat or just to sit in and listen etc. I've attached the photo from our last meeting to show we're not that scary lol. We had a nice relaxing time and you're more than welcome to bring a friend/relative to take the stress out of meeting new people. Just let me know if you plan to come so we can keep track of numbers please. Have a wonderful day. x

Hi Avtargill31 it would be great to know what the chilled out meeting is about. Is it a support group? Action group? I live in North Notts and could possible make this if I knew more. Thanks and top marks for organisation. 😀
Hi Fluffy2, the meeting was just a meet up with folks to see what condition other have and how it's changing/mutating. What medications are taken and side effects of them. Just a chat to share and see and support each other. I started it up last year when I had my first ever attack of Raynaud's in February 2016 and struggled to find anyone to talk to regarding this. My partner is great but it has helped me talking to others with the same/similar conditions. We have a coffee/tea, sit and talk for about 2 hours ish, all depends on if you're chatty. Folks are welcome to come and just sit and listen and hear what's being said and talked about. There's no pressure that you have to talk etc. Please feel free to ask more questions. I have set up a face book page too, where we share photos etc. the link is facebook.com/groups/1907611...
Kind regards Avtar
Hi Fluffy2, I get the train from Burton to Birmingham. The entrance to John Lewis is with The Birmingham New Street concourse which helps me because I don’t know Birmingham well.
Even though I work for GPs, I found having Scleroderma a lonely ‘business’ - having weird and wonderful symptoms doesn’t make for normal chatty conversations with friends and family! Meeting up with others with similar health issues is so great - we can share and understand stuff that our normal acquaintances don’t always understand.
Hope you can make it.
Hi Jen3131
Thanks for the reply. I have some scleraderma in my hands and I've never met anyone else with it so hope to see you at the meeting. I have mixed connective tissue disease which means I get a bit if all sorts of Lupus related symptoms. Just got to work out some logistics but hoping to be there. 😀
