A delicate area.

My podiatrist says I have Raynauds, as yet not confirmed by Rheumatology. Numbness, tingling, pain in soles of my feet etc. As well as these areas I have similar pain, same reaction to cold in the genitals, prostate area and along the bottom edge of the buttocks. Any other males have a similar problem.? It is very painful, but has been met with some disbelief by the only two doctors I have told about it. I will be seeing Rheumatologist in six weeks time.

I have secondary raynauds, can't say that I've ever heard about it in those areas, but it does affect my ears and lips (as well as hands & feet) and I've heard that people can experience it in their nipples. The only suggestion that I can make would be to take photos of it in these places, if there are any colour changes.

It should be interesting trying to take some "selfies" of the afflicted areas! Thanks for your reply.

Hi, I have primary Raynaud's. I was told by a Nurse that this can happen - so sorry :O(

Raynaud's can definitely happen in places other than the fingers and toes, although it is more unusual. I had it in my nipples when I was breastfeeding (too much info?!). If it feels like the same sort of pain and is triggered by the same things, then there's no reason to think it's something else. The good news is that, if it is Raynaud's, it is usually pretty easy to manage when you know how and if you are given medication then it will treat it wherever it is, so then you'll know for sure. GPs don't know much about Raynaud's as they don't see it much, so it's best to wait until you see a specialist to get a proper opinion. And yes, it is very painful! Good luck with the rheumatologist and in the meantime, stay warm!

Thanks for your reply. Maybe my question was too much info! I am seeing a specialist in six weeks, so hopefully my questions will get answered.
