Can anyone tell me. Before you got a full blown ulcer - exactly what did your finger
1) look like - anything unusual under the surface or on the surface
2) feel like- more sensitive pain. More numb?

Mine constricted and wouldn't let go no matter how warm i kept them. I got a black spot on my finger and when i finally saw my doc and he upped all my meds(sildinafil and Nifedipine) my circulation opened up and then the clot broke through. My 2 others got thick and tight and circulation constricted to that finger out of the blue again but I upped my meds right away. I had a split like a paper cut that ended up becoming an ulcer because I couldn't get it to heal. That ulcer healed in half the time of the other one. For all my ulcers I got the telltale skin hardening of scleraderma around the finger tip.
Thank you for this detailed answer!
You see - I am scared to death for this to start happening to me.
Do you mind if I ask - did you see a tiny black spot under the surface of the tip of your finger for months?
It can be scary and super painful. I have had 2 bad ones in three years I know i could be so much worse. I learned what to do after the first one so the second wasn't as bad. It constricted and about 2 weeks after that I noticed the black spot and I made an appt at my Rheumatologist. When I went in he upped my meds and the circulation came flooding back in and the black spot traveled from the pad of my index finger and erupted out the top over a week. I am in the states from what I have seen on here you guys in Europe have access to some cool creams and stuff we don;t have here. I would say keep those fingers as warm, clean, and healthy as you can. I love with rechargeable hand warmers and a hot pack in my lap. Helps a ton.
Corpitol Emulsion (not oil!) works wonders. Available online. Ca 40€ here in Spain. It stimultes the healthy tissue growth so much, that the lesion is simply overgrown. My ulcer vanished in 2 weeks, my mum’s black ulcers on heels were gone in 6 weeks.
It must be rubbed into the healthy skin surrounding the ulcer, never into the ulcer itself.
