Hi, does anyone have problems using fingerprint recognition?
I’ve never been able to use that function on my iPhone (it works initially but then fails) but I never thought much of it. Today I went prison visiting (as part of my job) and couldn’t get out as the machine couldn’t read my print! I had 3 staff members trying to get it to work for me with no success! I had to be let out differently in the end!
It then occurred to me that it could be because of my Raynaud condition?

Before DNA profiling you could’ve been a master thief! yes sometimes my phone doesn’t recognise me (have you tried using all different fingers?)
Yes, I have given up on fingertip recognition and have even tried different fingers. My fingers are very shiny so it could well be to do with our condition.
Hi, I've never had a problem using my iPhone. The only time it won't work for me is when I have washed my hands and not dried them completely before using it. As for using different fingers, it'll only pick those finger up if they are already programmed in to recognise them. I have thumbs and fore fingers of both hands and they have always worked for me.
Yes! My finger tips are so shiny, tight and cold that it is not just fingerprint recognition - I struggle with any touch-screen activities including the printer/copier at work.
