I will ask my husbands consultant next week if it is safe... I doubt they would recommend it but I guess it's work a go??

Did think about it but when I asked my friends husband who is a Dermatologist and has his own skin aesthetics practice he advised me that because of the Scleroderma any needle type aesthetics isn’t recommended. Hope this helps.

I would be extremely careful and take advice from a plastic surgeon or scleroderma expert. My plastic surgeon said that due to Sclero any effect with fillers wouldn’t last the normal length of time. The tightening of the skin (microstomia) around the mouth is hard to cope with l know.I am told l look angry due to in it. You can try bucosal enhancement whereby the plastic surgeon takes stem cell/fat from fleshier parts of the body and injects it in around the mouth. Mine was done by a plastic surgeon under general anaesthetic but unfortunately it only made a difference for a few months and it’s a case of continually topping up if it’s an issue. My lower face was swollen, sore and painful for a couple of weeks. I didn’t feel like going out until the swelling had subsided and of course general anaesthetic has some risks. Give either a go if the lines bother you. Good luck.

Thank you my only issue is (this treatment is for my husband by the way) he has lost so much weight that I doubt if there is any fatty tissue on his body to be taken. This is a hard one not sure what to do

Thank you for your advice xx

I am really thin too, barely no fat anywhere. First surgery fat was taken from tummy area then lost some weight and the following year surgeon said he had to take it from inner thigh. It’s only an egg cup full or so as far as l know.

I have had lip fillers and i am so pleased with the results. I did a lot of research and have had them done 3 times in the space of 2 years, started with half mil but last time i had 1ml in August, they still look amazing to me. i am 43, lost all my top teeth due to this horrible illness...I have Polymyositis, secondary Reynauds and suffer with digital ulcers also have calcanosis..apologies for my spelling. I plan a month ahead of having fillers by taking anti bruising tablets and i avoid anti inflammatory meds a week before treatment. I am lucky that i have found a really good professional practitioner.

Hi. I thought about this but was advised against it by my consultant for reasons given above. I have found a lip plumper from Haych cosmetics, an online company, which seems to work for me. It costs £12.95. I have extended my lip line and it has plumped it out and after I apply my lipstick. Obviously, it's only temporary but you can keep applying it. Take a look at their website as it's much cheaper than lip fillers! Good luck, Kim.
