Hey guys,

I've just found you! I was wondering if anyone can offer any advice/suggestions about the gyny troubles I have been having please? I have no idea if there is any relationship between this and my scleroderma. I have limited SS which I've had for more than 7years (after a 5year fight for diagnosis). I'm 30 and i don't have children.

So here's the deal...

- i got a copper IUD put in 2 years ago. Since then I suffered bleeding after sex and pain. It turns out the damn thing was in the wrong place for pretty much the whole 2years. So I got it removed 1.5months ago. The nurse told me my cervix would be a bit inflammed but it should all heal up in a few weeks.

- 1.5months later... i still feel pain and bleed. This can be anything from a tiny drop to 3days of bleeding. I have had STI tests (which I didn't need), Smear tests (which the nurse told me they shouldn't be doing because I had one 2years ago), and ultrasound (which came back all clear), and numerous pokes and prods by different doctors...the only conclusion they have is they 'see inflammation.'

I heal super slowly because of my scleroderma, but as far as my tests go it isn't impacting my internal organs yet. I wondered if I was just healing really slowly? or is there any link between this and my scleroderma that people can think of/have experienced?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as so far no one seems to know what the problem is...

Thanks :)

Hi rainbowfingers,

Very sorry to hear of your pains and troubles. I also suffer from limited Ssc and haven't experienced the sort of issues you're having. Vaginal dryness is the one symptom that I attribute to my scleroderma though I am not 100% sure about that...are you sure you've checked yourself fully? Perhaps another smear test to be on the safe side? Or a biopsy? I used to have regular vaginal bleeding about 10yrs ago and it was all down to pre-cancerous cells on my cervix(HPV related). Luckily, that was treated with a loop procedure and I have been fine ever since. The smear tests were not coming too worrying most of the time but the biopsy made things clear.

Best of luck!
