Hi I went to see a doc 3 days ago about aches an pains in both hands symptoms were similar to raynauds I've actually ended up being diagnosed with carpool tunnel in both hands I'm now booked in for injections ..has anyone else been diagnosed with carpool tunnel in both hands and what did you decide as I'm undecided whether injections will ease the pain
Raynauds: Hi I went to see a doc 3 days... - Scleroderma & Ray...
Raynauds

I had carpel tunnel syndrome in both hands and had the injections. They help some people but they didn't help me. My hands got worse afterwards and had to have them operated on. My GP said that they always try the injections first. The operation is very quick and painless but don't have both hands done at the same time. I had mine done separately. The surgeon wanted to do them at the same time, I am glad I didn't let him. You have a huge dressing after the operation for a few days. It makes you one handed. Think about how you would go to the toilet with no hands and that will stop you having them done together.
I hope the problem is sorted out soon.
My hands were my first Scleroderma symptom,I was a dog groomer and used my hands scissoring all day 5 days a week so when they swelled and became inflamed the doctor thought Lymes, Carpel tunnel, hepatitis, gout, my hands felt liked they had been dipped into boiling water. I was waiting on a nerve conduction study and the doctor's wife which was his PA told him she thought it was Scleroderma and it was. After I started on methotrexate and prednisone the inflammation started to ease up. That was 17 years ago,my hands are crippled but nothing hurts like it did in the beginning.
