I been thinking about getting massages. Does anyone get them and does it help?
Massages: I been thinking about getting... - Scleroderma & Ray...
Massages
I used to get them every 3 weeks at one stage, do they help? I suppose a little, they do leave you feeling lovely though.
My hubby massages my feet and legs and I find it helps me but sumtimes the do feel tender the day after
For me, they would have to be very gentle, but try one and see! I think the point is probably relaxation.
I suppose, if you don't have joint pain and your skin isn't really sensitive to the touch then it might be doing you good.....unfortunately, for me, not an option as I have all these descriptives.
Been going for years because I carry all my stress in shoulders and back. As for help with sclero, don't know how I'd be overall without massage so can't say if it helps long-term. Best advice - choose an excellent well-trained RMT. Interview them to be sure they have a solid understanding of how tissues, nerves and organs interact. Educate them about your personal issues. Ideally, one with a basic understanding of connective tissue disease would be best.
