Does anyone get a burning sensation when you are having your hair straightened? I do when my mum does it, as most of the time my arms become tired 2 mins in! Also does anyone have a really sensitive head to heat and it goes red and itchy and painful?? Thanks!
Yes, yes, i know, i ask a lot of ques... - Scleroderma & Ray...
Yes, yes, i know, i ask a lot of questions, but if i dont ask i wont ever know. So please answer!!!!
No, I don't have any problems having my hair straightened. But I have it done at the hairdressers, as I couldn't manage it myself. I look on it as a therapy because no matter how bad I'm feeling, my hair looks great. Xx
Mmm, maybe its just me then :/
I do have a sensitive, itchy head sometimes, but no burning sensation I must admit. You should tell the GP about it and also a Hairdresser, sometimes they are better than the Doctor at seeing what's wrong! Never apologise for asking questions, it's what we all do and it's good to get info. from others and learn. Hope you find a solution to your problem.
Ahh ok, next time i go i will mention it, haha thats teue! Ok, ill keep thag in mind, thanks. How are you? All the best,
Littlemissshy
Hi littlemissshy, I too have very sensitve scalp and skin in general. You may need to use a milder straightener if you are talking about the cream straightener. You can buy a base cream which your mum can apply generously to your scalp, hairline behind your ears and the nape oy your neck before starting the process. This will prevent burning of your scalp and will not lessen the effect of the cream. Make sure to stick to the instructions regarding the length of time to do this, shampoo three times, condition and rinse hair well.
If you're talking about the heated straightener, maybe try not to get it too hot and use a spray to procted your hair before using the heated staightener/tongs. Hope this helps.
Hi littlemissshy.......the only pain I experience whilst styling my hair is from my arms......they feel like dead weights and ache when I raise them above my head.....I do have a dry itchy scalp and pains in my neck and shoulders....I hope this helps.......please take care...xx
yes, i will take all of that onboard, and i do it the lazy way, wartsandall, i get my mum to do it, the only thing i have to do is brush my hair, thats a pain mind! and graygirl1, i mean the heated ones, my mum just thinks im a wimp, but if she had it then shed be screaming. im not sure if its a symptom or a phobia though, as when i was 9 my aunt clamped my ear with the straighteners, for two years i wouldnt use them. i think its a symptom, but still not sure. one stage my head was that irritable i got some anti- allergic shampoo which seemed to help, but it ran out and hasnt been replaced since, as there is no money spare this month. i am lazy in some ways i guess, as i have plenty of sprays for hair, but i dont use any as a few months ago i used one and it made my head go mad, havent gone near it since haha. thanks guys this really helped, hope you are ok, have a good day xx
