Hi. I was diagnosed with limited systemic sclerosis 18months ago. Does anyone else find that this illness makes them tired? I can't find anything in the fact sheets.

Yes I have limited and feel shattered most of the time. The SRUK fact sheets do mention that fatigue is common to both forms of the disease. I have to pace myself and rest...hoping the medication will help.

Hi there, yes I get tired very quickly. Just doing normal housework takes me hours to do what I used to in 30 mins. I have learned to listen to my body now, I try to do jobs daily rather than having a whole clean up day. Every thing is hard work, and hovering makes me drip with sweat, I call it my workout ha!!!!! Be kind to yourself and don't push to hard . If I'm planning something in the evening I usually have a easy day so that I have enough energy. I have had several falls when my head wants to do something quicker than my legs, but I'm learning. Hope this helps you. Take care of yourself x

Yes. Fatigue is present. Excess stress also triggers flare ups I have found.

Absolutely. My rheumatologist explained it very well. She said that most people start their day with a full tank of gas. I start with three quarters. Nothing to do with the amount of rest I'm getting or how busy I am, simply because of the disease. Her simple analogy has been very helpful in explaining to family and friends.

I know it's not always possible but planning your day as much as you can is important. If you know you have a busy evening for example, try to schedule a rest in the earlier part of the day.

Yes, I get very tired easily and feel as if my batteries have run out. Like others I try and ensure that some part of each day is resting. I have a cleaner and a gardener so only do light housework. I use my DLA for this

Hi Evess

I'm in the work dilemma at the moment I was diagnosed 4 years ago and took the this won't change me attitude. But more and more I'm feeling exhausted, I still work full time but all my energy goes into my working day and I have nothing left for a social life/ gym. The trouble is the thought of having to go through claiming sick benefits fills me with dread and also I'm not sure how I would be staying home all day.
