For the best part of 3 years i have been suffering with electric shock like spams through my body. My arms become contorted for a second or 2 and my hands spasm. My head can jolt backwards and my legs kick out. On average i have around 15 of these episodes per minute. Some have been quite violent. They started 4 hours after an MRI scan. I see a consultant about an over active thyroid and my symptoms are not related to the issue i have. I don't have any balance when i walk, the spasms i have even happen when i'm asleep. The neurologist i was under at the hospital told me it it is a undiagnosed medical condition, i have not seen him since and basically i have been left like. No medication, no further examination, nothing. My life is a misery, painful at every minute and i don't know where to turn. I have a new GP and i think he knows what's causing it, my previous GP just went along with what the neurologist had said and because he could not offer an explanation himself, i have been left in lumber.
Can anybody advise me on this issue p... - Scleroderma & Ray...
Can anybody advise me on this issue please.
I'm not sure you're in the right forum to be advised properly tbh, but what I'd be doing is to push for another referral to the neurologist. It doesn't sound like it's anything to do with Raynauds or SSc (what this forum is about) but I'm no expert either. I suffer from both conditions this forum is about and I've never heard of this being related to them.
Try for another referral is my best guess.
In addition to my symptoms, i have muscle stiffness in my legs that causes me to walk like i'm drunk. As this site says, health unlocked i was not aware it was specifically for one or two medical conditions. I was just wondering if not hoping that someone else had similar issues that were later diagnosed and were treated. Thank you for your reply Grindy.
Ahhh, health unlocked has several forums, all of which have their own specialties...
If you were to Google neurological forums you'd likely find a health unlocked one where u might find someone with better advice for you.
If you look to the top of the page you'll see this one is for Raynauds and systemic sclerosis.
Good luck and I hope u find the help you're looking for.
Weird symptons but i have restless leg syndrome..i wonder if it is similiar..i have thermostat issues..reyneaud..possible sclerdoma..narrowed espohagus...i actually got hyprodermoia. From eating ice cream when i felt a little chilly......all immune system disorders i believe....i try to take one day at a time and try to be happy....
I was told it was being gcaused from the Vaso spasms from Raynaud's, I continue on vasodilator and has decreased enormously.
