Which medication?

I have been on Nifepress MR for about 3 years and when I saw the Rheumy this week she asked if I had felt it had helped? And to be honest I don't think it has.

I'm still freezing most of the time, live in thermals and hate walking down the fridge/ freezer isle even in the middle of summer!. Never mind getting something out of the freezer at home.

I know that I'm lucky that I don't get ulcers or anything.

But just wondering what other medication there is?

Is Nifepress a Calcium channel blocker? Take a look at this NHS document about treatment for digital ulcers. It shows a pathway for recommended medications. Don't know if this will help you but it's worth a look.

Thank you for that it makes interesting reading.

Not sure yet til I go back to the GP what's going to happen medication wise.

Been thinking maybe the fact that I have not been getting ulcers means it's been working?

It would be nice to be able to feel my feet though, been numb and like a block of ice for years :(

Gymbabe I have Raynauds and was put on Nifedipine. I think it is to open up the blood vessels and help stop ulcers. There's a lot of info out there about how to combat the cold of Raynauds. Some people wear Uggs all year round! If you're on Facebook I'd join the group called Scleroderma family. Loads of knowledgable people and usually someone answers your questions. If you haven't seen it already, take a look at this website. Lots of good info about keeping warm and even an online shop. raynauds.org.uk/raynauds/ra.... Jinty xx
