I have to have an operation its to remove some stitches that were put in my stomach some 4 years ago the stitches are causing pain and the surgeon hopes once removed the pain will go. I have scleroderma and raynauds does anyone know if this will cause any problems with the recovery.
Thank you for any advise x

Our immune systems are very low so be very very careful of infection! Oh and make sure the surgeon is aware of the meds you are on and has a good understanding of your conditions, don't be afraid to ask questions. Good luck.
I had major bowel surgery 2 1/2 years ago( almost half of my bowel removed) but I recovered really well considering the nature of the op. I have SSc & Secondary Raynauds. I had too stop taking my methotrexate a few weeks before, they also gave me warmed up blankets while putting in an epidural (I still had a general anaesthetic ) before the op and then again while I was coming round. They did one long stitch under the skin in dissolvable thread to stitch me up & it healed well.
