there are many over the counter tablets ,Imodium being one of them, codeine phosphate is a strong painkiller and should be used with caution! your gp will be able to give you something to slow you down

good luck

Hi!

You could also speak to your Pharmacist. I phone my Pharmacist with these sort of questions as it saves having to make a Drs appointment in the first instance. Your pharamacist should offer you advice and/or medication and will also tell you when to go to your GP with your problem.

Hope things settle down soon,

Hello, I have this problem and got Imodium (betamethasone) from my GP. It does the trick. Always take one before going out and carry some with me all the time,

Make sure to see your doctor before taking anything unless of course you know the cause of the frequent need to open your bowels. Be careful that you don't become constipated and drink lots of water to replace fluids. hope you feel better real soon.

Good luck!

Loperamide is available on prescription - similar to Imodium. Many people with bowel problems in scleroderma take this as and when required.
