It's 3:40 am and i'm still awake. For some reason it's gotten really easy for me to just stay up till 4 am. I don't even do it on purpose it just happens. I've been having a sleeping pattern like this for years and it's gotten worse this year. It's bad and i want to change

Hi dreamcatcher, I am exactly the same , I can stay up no problem untill 5 am , it used to be 2am ,then 3 am ...but like you it has gotten worse , I have underlying health problems but i also take pregabalin for my neuropathy which as you can tell does not work other than make me gain weight !! .. I did see my hepatologist last week who suggested amyltriptaline, this would then replace my sertraline but make me sleepy.

Have you had CBT therapy? I had that but unfortunately did not help , I'm not one for going to bed at 10pm !!

Yes that’s me awake all night and so tired in the day

Since I've retired and my wife passed earlier this year, I've been on a non-scheduled sleep pattern. When I get tired I go to bed. When I can't sleep I watch t.v. or computer. I'm going to set the world record by watching every video on YT. Every day is Ground Hog day for me. Always the same thing, nothing changes unless I do it. And why would or should I? Only my meds keep me from taking the Big Sleep. Amitriptyline. Xanax. Cymbalta. Tizanidine. Medical marijuana (yeah, right!). Oh well, that's where a good chunk of our tax dollars are going. Medicare, Medicaid, SS Disability pays for it all. I pay not a dime. I take that back. Every dollar they spend on testing me and medicating me I'm paying out-of-pocket cash for MMJ since they don't take plastic.

Cymbalta. Tizanidine. Cymbalta is a Serotonin Re uptake inhibitor. Your Xanax is preferred over Tizanidine. The makers of Cymbalta settled out of court a few years ago for "brain Zaps". The SRI, SSRI and Tricyclics like amitriptyline put me in the ER with Serotonin Syndrome. They also cause me to have NO SLEEP as apposed to sleep and rest. check everything on drugs.com for the most accurate drug interactions.

I wonder if the years of taking Cymbalta us what has caused me to be unable to sleep well. Any thoughts? I had never known there was any kind of settlement or issue with the drug until I came here.

I am in the same boat. I tried to even put a sleep timer on my phone that won’t let me access certain apps. But it makes it even harder to sleep. I’m just not tired. And have alot going on in my mind. Just letting you know you’re not alone 🙃

You need a Ativan or another benzo. Just do not drink alcohol

I took 2 doses of cymbalta and was awake and wired for 72 hours.

I stopped it immediately and switched to a different medication.
