Hi jayman,

I also have been diagnosed with anxiety and depression and bipolar disorder, but bp II instead of I. They are all difficult to cope with. Most drugs I've tried have helped me sleep at least 3 or 4 hours but, to my surprise, it took me months to discover that in the higher doses when we tried to get a longer night's sleep for me I had a lot of bad side effects build up: difficulty thinking clearly, concentrating, remembering things, muscle and bone pain, headaches, dizziness, and many, many more. Strange, but true! I have decreased significantly the drugs responsible and am much more lucid after 3 weeks. I will be seeing my doctor asap about this. My bf and I find this rather odd but I thought I'd let you know that this kind of thing can happen so you can be aware.

Some drugs can work for awhile but then backfire on you, or possibly do so when the dose is raised to a higher one. I had some good years on both drugs but now it's time to stop them. We not only have the illness but are stuck being alert to how our bodies handle the treatment the entire time. Best of health to you as you handle these illnesses!
