Sleep Apnoea

I am new to this community. I would like to talk to people who have OSA. I have been using a c-pap for 9 years after being in a coma for 4 days. I am on 14 pressure 3 humidity setting. I do not know anyone who has same problems I have. It would be interesting to talk to others in this position. I have copd and arthritis My breathing is a bit laboured but I do very well. One result of the coma is that I do stammer and stutter a bit and some words take a while to find. I have a great life and do many things.

Hi Calvados1,

Welcome to Sleep Matters! I have been using a CPAP for well over 10 years and it's been a tremendous help to my sleep becoming more peaceful with no problems of stopping breathing, no waking and gasping for air. I've never been in a coma. My humidity setting is a 4 and my pressure is 6 and small change. I have many illnesses including psoriatic arthritis and osteoarthritis. No copd, thank God.

I've been healed of very strong cases of fibromyalgia and GAD--generalized anxiety disorder. So glad to drop those problems!! I have short and long term memory losses due to 28 years on a benzodiazepine that I don't regret...it was necessary for me to work and raise a family. I also have cognitive problems on and off, here and there...I just have to live with them. I sometimes can't find the words I know and want to use to express myself, just like you've described. Frustrating for certain! I have some other struggles but, like yourself, enjoy life and look at the positives in my own life. It's all pretty good!!!
