Hi, I’m 50, and long story short, I have a long term cancer which has finally caught up with me and the docs can’t do anymore. I have a large tumour on my heart and it’s affecting my blood saturation levels, so I’m on oxygen 24 hours a day. My biggest problem is that I constantly fall asleep as soon as I sit down. I can’t read, watch tv, use the loo, eat food, without falling asleep. It’s driving me insane. I get plenty of sleep most nights. Does anyone else have this problem? Thank you.

Way too much sleep 😴
That doesn't sound unusual for your case. My mom had lung cancer and she would do the same. While I don't have any heart related issues at the moment I do have sleep apnea, so I have trouble sleeping. This is without a CPAP which I could never get used to. It's gotten to the point that if I sit down without doing something, I will doze off. I guess my mind has to be really focused on something.
My mother has lung cancer and it dosnt seem like the doctors can do anything for her anymore. she sleeps most of the day.
I’m so very sorry to hear this. Watching a loved one suffer is horrible and I’ve been there, so feel your pain.
Does she fall asleep at random times? Like while eating, or sat on the toilet etc?
I go to a hospice once a week and they have helped tremendously, with their advice. I make sure I lie on my bed and get two to three hours in the afternoon, and this has helped a little. I’m just praying the treatment I had for my cancer is working. I found out last week, that one of my tumours in my neck is responding and getting smaller. Which is absolutely awesome news!!! Today I’m seeing the cardiologist who might be able to tell me what’s happening to the tumour on my heart, which is the biggie. This is my last hope.. we will see 🤞🤞🤞
That IS awesome! Here's saying a little prayer for you if that is okay
Hi Mary - I am so sorry for your situation sweetie.. I wish I could help, but no direct knowledge there. Here's hoping that someone has a good answer for at least some of this... Gentle hugs
Thank you so much Caeryl. All prayers greatly appreciated. I saw my cardiologist last week and he basically said he doesn’t know until I have an MRI if the heart tumour has responded. I had an echocardiogram and it was quite scary seeing the tumour sat on my heart, pumping away. But I feel quite positive. What will be will be. 😍
Prayers and positive thoughts here... Let us know how it goes...
