Hello all - i'm new to this group. I have been suffering the effects if sjogrens for a few years now, alongside lupus and fibro. I just wanted whether anyone suffers really dry itchy and soreness of the scalp and if so whether you have found anything that helps. I have tried coaltar shampoos and nizoral. Thanks in advance. Hi I too suffer from a very dry scalp...Most shampoos irritate it. My hairdresser told me to use cocnut oil or apricot oil every so offen to moisturise my scalp. I melt down the cocnut oil and with my fingertips I massage it into my head. I leave it there for about an hour then clean it off. I use a shampoo to clean it off but don't apply it or rub it in to much. Just pat it around. It takes a couple of rinses to get it free off the hair but leaves the scalp comfortable for quite a while. In between these applications I use Grahams Natural Shampoo available in New Zealand and Austalia. website itchy.net.au Good Luck

Hi spice - thanks so much for your reply. It hadnt occurred to me that the shampoo might be contributing to the problem. Thanks for the tip. Im gona give that a try see what happens.

I now use Moo Goo from pharmacist and health food shop. My scalp has improved dramatically and my hair dresser commented on how healthy my hair/scalp were.

I use a mix of things in rotation e.g. nizorale/H&S Clinically Proven/Oilatum but I seem to get itchy flareups where nothing works (including anti histamines).... using one shampoo doesn't help, the rotation of various does.

Sorry I can't offer any better suggestions.
