Wearing eye makeup

This may seem like a frivolous question. Does anyone have any tips on how to wear makeup without the eyes reacting so painfully. I have been invited to an important family function and would like to look my best and feel confident. Thanks

Hi Banshee

I have SS and learned to reserve eye makeup to special occasions

Here’s my routine:

Change mascara every 3 months and whenever it is contaminated. Washable mascara is best

Start with a clean face.

Apply eye drops like Refresh.

Apply antihistamine eye drops like Bausch & Lomb Alaway.

Apply your eye makeup

Removal:

Olay facial cleansing cloths...you just add water. One side is for defoliant while the other is for gentle cleansing. Be gentle.

Reapply eye moisturizing drops.

This routine has worked fine for me and I have very dry eyes and sensitive skin.

Best wishes and have a good time

😊🌸

Thank you. I'll try this.

Hi Banshee - I switched to Bare Minerals eye makeup, and it is better, but there is still a reaction. Especially if you have Sjogrens, it is hard to wear it and NOT have a reaction. I have the same issue to some extent. When I switched to the Bare Minerals, it does take longer (like a few hours) than it did with other brans (almost immediately)_. Sorry I can't help more
