Hello all,

Due to Prostate surgery and a Transurethral resection I have had an artificial urinary sphincter put in by an experienced surgeon about 4 1/2 weeks now. My incisions have healed nicely but my scrotum where the pump is installed is still very sore. My simple question is...is this normal at 4 1/2 weeks after the procedure. Can anyone in this group speak to their recovery and the timing of when your body was back to 'normal' again? Did the scrotum take a long time to heal completely??? Thank you so much. I am beginning to get a bit concerned.

I am not a nurse or a doctor, but with anything that seems unusual after surgery, I would call the urologist's office that did the surgery and ask about this and get an answer. Or perhaps they will want to see you, which surely would be a good idea. Please make a phone call.
