Defining Nocturia Fact Sheet

This is a new two-page PDF fact sheet that provides the nitty gritty on just what is nocturia, how it is different than bedwetting, is this something to talk to your doctor about, and what are things that can cause it and also get it under control.

Nocturia is serious because of the impact on poor sleep quality and what that does to you when you are trying to stay awake during the daytime! And yes, there's help.

This Fact Sheet can be easily downloaded and printed for education meetings and can be made available in clinic offices in waiting rooms.

And if you know of someone who is trying to deal with nocturia, this little document just might turn their life around by getting them to seek medical help. So please share it with others.

Hi yes a great read but trouble is many Quacks just dismiss anything that isn't there thinking!

I need to go sometimes 3 times at night but do find sleep more comfy if have drunk plenty rather than less as wake up hot if don't as with fibro temps are hard to control.

Wearing a decent Wrap round pad is i think better at night if holds enough plus don't leak if front/side sleeper! then worry about washing that next day as even if have bottle/jar by bed it's still a disturbance and have to worry about spills/dribbles still.

If the Stigma was removed many would get on far better.

Is it called spiro something they give you for reducing excess fluid in body?

There are many products that help reduce excess fluid in the body, but they depend on what is causing the fluid retention. Is it the heart? Is it several diseases going on at the same time? So it's best to consult a doctor/druggist/pharmacist. Plus the names can vary between countries and multiple manufacturers!

If you are a person who might be able to use a male external catheter at night, connected to a bedside urine drainage collector, you might do away with leakage at night. I know not everyone can use them, but if you can, this will definitely keep you dry at night, and you won't have to get up to pee either.

Staying hydrated is important for everyone - no matter what the age. You don't want to reduce the amount of water/fluid to a dehydration level. Especially the elderly! You might try to see if you can move a bit of the fluid intake to a few hours before bedtime (earlier in the evening), to see if that helps.

Anything i try/use has to be right as being Deemed Barking Mad/bonkers(Autistic/Aspergers) i have to have confidence in it/them and tried many things that had much squealing and squawking about them but fell down flat on there face in use!

Afex system was one guy said try to control it etc .said i can pee my own pants don't need any help from others! as when needed to go it was all or nothing!

I turn over/fight with the bed most times/nights and sleep front/side in some odd/weird position.

Can't sleep on my back either.
