Hello everyone,my son whose 5 yrs old is a worrier,his has been put on hydroxea and to be honest am not sure of it....anyone whose been taking it and have you seen positive change since taking it?many thanks

I had a painful crisis last year and had to go to the hospital. After discharge, I was prescribed Hydroxyurea 500mg daily. After taking it for 2 months, my white blood cell started depleting. I went down to 500mg twice a week. My crisis have been mild but occurs more frequently. It has always been mild until my trip to the hospital. For me, it hasn't done much. You may want to have a conversation with your doctor, if you are still in doubt.
