Sickle cell disease and sickle cell trait are primarily known as a black disease. Yes I'm aware people who are or have ancestors from Greece, Sicily and other areas in the Mediterranean can suffer from them and they are regarded as white, but predominately non-white people suffer from it. This means unless there are a significant number of non-white medical researchers and doctors are willing to study it, then don't hold your breath.
