Hello! I was diagnosed with OC serous low grade 3c in December 2017 and just received diagnosis of metastatic adenocarcinoma of the breast in August 2020. Needless to say I am shocked. To top it off both the mammogram and MRI of the breasts are normal and the don’t show any evidence disease, but a small lump in my shoulder showed that it’s positive. Has anyone else gone through ovarian cancer and then diagnosed with breast cancer? Appreciate your thoughts and what treatment you had gone through. Thank you.

Hi. I have not had breast cancer though I have a high chance of getting it due to my PALB2 mutation. Are you BRCA positive? It’s hard to imagine how a new cancer could grow when you’re having chemo. Is there any doubt about whether the lump could be from the OC? I would get a second opinion from a top cancer center.
While I have not been diagnosed with breast cancer, I have run across a number of women in the past 15 years that have a similar story to yours. Some of them are volunteers on the SHARE helpline (866-537-4273). All the volunteers are survivors and you can ask to speak to someone who has also been diagnosed with breast cancer. Best wishes to you, Gwen
Thanks everyone- I’m getting some second opinions and they are saying it’s ovarian that has metastasized to the lymph nodes in my shoulder/neck. It pays to get second opinions - I’m waiting to hear how to treat. They are doing the Foundation One test and reviewing the pathology slides.
