I have stage 3C. One doctor is recommending HIPEC procedure along with surgery. I would like to hear from anyone who has had HIPEC and if so, how did it go? Or if they had an option for HIPEC and decided not to have it. I am confused about what it can do or not do.

HIPEC procedure
Hi PrincesTobi,
I have had the hipec procedure in October 2017. It wasn't easy but I found out later that I had to do more research on the doctor/surgeon. Unfortunately mine was the only one in Dubai to do it and I had no choice.
Hipec is harsh on the body. Long period of anaesthesia also killed my hair follicles.
You need a good rest after the procedure.. like 3+ weeks off work in you can.
Most important in hipec is to do proper debulking before they put the tubes with heated chemo. Research your options and get as many reviews as you can from patients in your area/country.
I recurred after 10 months.
I don't want to discourage you because some people stay ned for long after hipec.
Best of luck
Hi Nouna99. Many thanks for telling me your experience with hipec. I am doing some research. Haven’t found anyone yet in my area who has had it done. I am having good results with chemo so may skip the hipec. Sounds like there can be lots of complications and not that much benefit. I am not young so my age worries me too. Thanks again for responding.
Hi PrincesTobi .I have surgery after recurrence,my results was good but my doctor recommended have Hipec surgery she said I am good candidate.I did some research and refuse surgery. You go watch som videos in YouTube. This surgery is not approved by FDA ,so they doing experience.Good luck.Emma
