My mother is given hipec after 3 years recurrence. Is there any possibility if hipec would be given again if it again recurr ?? What should be the minimum time gap. My mother is also BRCA negative. Will parp inhibitors work for her ?

Hipec after 3 years
Hi there,
You’d need to discuss the HIPEC query with your mothers doctor. There was a few articles online yesterday about the results of a new trial , think called PAOLO 1 that showed that adding a drug called olaparib ( ? Lynprazna) to avastin as maintenance can improve progression free survival in non brca patients. Results presented as the ESMO conference in Barcelona yesterday ... I read it with interest because I’m brca negative and currently on avastin for a recurrence. I wish you and your mum all the very best, D
Some brca negative women do respond to PARP inhibitors. While your mother may not be a carrier of a BRCA mutation ie have an inherited BRCA mutation, her tumor itself may have a spontaneous mutation that might make it more susceptible to PARP inhibitors. Do you know if her tumor was tested for BRCA mutations in addition to the blood or saliva test that would show inherited mutations?
i don't understand. when was your mother initially given hipec treatment. was the recurrence after the procedure? how did she tolerate it? what stage was she diagnosed with? thanx.......recently told im having first recurrence...did not take info well, exploring options....m
I have been on a parp inhibitor Lynparza (olaparib) since beginning of May and am BRCA negative. While it hasn't
Regimen this week. Feel great. Sorry about three responses pressed wrong button
Further to my last post , I am brca negative and apparently adding a parp inhibitor such as lynprazna may not benefit me because it is most beneficial to BRCA patients or those who are HRD deficient . Avastin is what I’m still on as maintenance and it seems to be working .
