Pt 1 Stage 1 FIGO 1 ovarian tumor..

Hey there,

I have pt1, stage 1, FIGO 1 ovarian tumor on my right ovaries... My cervix and other ovaries are all fine. Will it cure from removal of ovary?

Please help. I m worried about it.

Hi Neethadsa,

A diagnosis of ovarian cancer is such a worry, isn't it? I'm sorry you're going through this. Will you be seeing your doctor soon so you can ask the doctor the question regarding cure?

I had the same but went through a full hysterectomy and both ovaries, fallopian tubes and omentum removed. Also went through 6 rounds of Carbo/Taxol. I think that is the recommendation.

Sounds like similar to me found 1 Fallopian tube small spot in peritoneum... will have omentum removed July 2. After 3rd chem May 29 ... I had gone in for a scheduled bladder lift and complete hysterectomy when this was found ... on carbo-tax. For 6 rounds. 3 before omentum surgery then 3 after

As you know there are no guarantees. I couldn’t tell from your post whether or not you have already had surgery or whether they were telling you that based on a scan. And if you have had surgery, whether or not your doctor is recommending any chemo.

It is terrifying when someone gets news that they have cancer. But the long term prognosis is much better for stage 1. The bulk of us have stage 3 or 4. I’m a stage 3C and am still here after 13 years.
