Hi ... I'm new here. Ovarian cancer, 1A.

I have a question about the side effects of the omentum removal. I'm not sure if I'll be sore, or if it will grow back, or what?

And advice is welcomed. I hope all are doing as well as possible.

As far as I know their aren’t any side effects, I had mlne removed last June and I feel fine, after initial recovery. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t grow back.

Best wishes to you, that’s so great that they caught yours pretty early! Prayers for a optimum outcome. 🙏🏻🦋

Everybody tells me to stay OFF google, but it's difficult. I hope your next chemo rounds are easy for you.

I'm glad you are feeling well! It sounds like all is well for you now?

Thank you. They will complete my staging next week, with the omentum/lymph node removal. so far, all is showing to be 1a.

Good question. I have not noticed anything but with the info in the news lately that the tissue between organs does indeed have a function and possibly should be called an organ itself I am wondering the same thing.

WHAT was recovery like for removal of omentum? How bit residual pain in abs weeks ? Months? Years? Forever? Concerned bout stuff I e read 😑

Removal of the omentum is standard procedure especially for someone with advanced disease. I’m unaware of any pain specific to the removal of the omentum. During my surgery they removed so many other things as well, including parts of my small intestines which I think is what caused me more of the pain that I experienced.

Recovery wasn't much different than my appendectomy. I was up and about in a couple of days. ☺️

Thx. I hope so👍🏻 Have another question??? Did you or others you know have “rashlike tiny red spots over arms legs a bit itchy”??? I’m 2 weeks out from my first chemo treatment. Second one will be May 7th ???

I'm not sure about the rash.... I would see my doctor. There's all kinds of things that could cause a rash; antibiotics, chemo, GSF shots, etc. Your doctor can take a sample of your rash and figure out what's going on. Best wishes!😘
