5 years ovarian cancer free

I have had a long battle with cancer. My mom's 14 yr battle with breast cancer which matastized throughout her body and she lost her battle 2 yrs ago. I have had cervical, then 7 yrs later had ovarian. Due to my and my family history I am checked yearly (for 10 more yrs still). I am worried because I am having symptoms that could mean it has returned and all other tests for stomach, sleeping, and other issues have come back negative. There has been a lot of stress in my life recently and I am just hoping I am still cancer free. The years separating mine and my mom's reacurrances have been the same up to this point. So a little worried. I love this group and support of all. No judgements and though it's my 1st post, I hope to find many friends and help be supportive to those in need. :)

Bless you. What a journey you have had. We are all here to support you. It's a constant worry isn't it? I was told I was going to have 3 monthly scans once I'd finished chemo. I had one last month which was all clear and now my oncologist has changed the plan! No more scans unless I start with symptoms. As my CA125 has never been a marker, I'm going to worry constantly. I didn't have any symptoms the first time!

Keep on fighting and remember, you are not on your own x

My CA125 has never shown as a marker either. It is always a worry...any new symptom or similar it's my 1st thought. I have a multitude of other issues back and knee related as well as cancer surgery complications. And my TAH put me in a wheelchair.....doc apparently clipped a nerve. But I recently had a friend with the same new symptoms who had another form of cancer come back with colon cancer and is currently recovering. Unfortunately the docs here in Vegas are not on what I would call the decent list. I did finally 2 days ago talk a doc into doing a ct scan....so we will see what that turns up. Thanks for replying and hope you get back to being NED.

So glad you have posted and well done for making 5 years cancer free. I did not even make 10 months after successful debulking. I was sure it was back by feeling the same symptoms as before-just nausea and loss of appetite. Please let us know how you are getting on.

I'm so glad you found this site. I can relate with your story. There was a woman whose journey I seemed to be paralleling. When she passed away, there were a couple years that I spent wondering if that was going to be my fate as well. The good news for me is that my journey did take a different road and I am still here. May your journey be one with many continuing years of dancing with NED (no evidence of disease).
