Stage 4 Dec 2019. On Ibrance, letrozole and six monthly Denusomab. PET scan to mid thigh three weeks ago NEADS. However I overdid walking in London and have damaged my left knee. Had Denusomab injection last Friday and I am in pain. Anyone experienced the same?

knee pain

Hello Gramat
I'm in a similar situation with timeframe and meds...except I have Zometa IV instead of Denusomab. I'm 54 and was diagnosed in May 2021.
I often get bone and muscle pains but they come and go. I hope this will be the same for you. I think it's mostly the Letrozole hormone restriction that causes the joint issues. Great news that you've reached NEAD status! I would not worry about the knee pains being anything sinister....as you've had good scan results. It sounds like a strain/sprain... rest, hot Epsom salt soaks, magnesium gel rubs and possibly wearing a compression support might all help to ease the discomfort. If it persists it's worth telling your oncologist and may be trying to check your cartilage in the painful knee...as we can experience exaggerated degeneration of our joints in some cases due to the induced menopause from our medications....your oncologist could refer you to a specialist.
I hope you feel better soon.
Best wishes
Zoe xx
Also...it could be a reaction to the weather changes from travelling to London from Gibraltar. I live in Cyprus and my son is in London...when the seasons change or I travel to a wetter London climate, I experience rheumatic joint pains what tend to ease after a week or so.
