cancerinomatous meningitis

Iwasborntodothis profile image

Ladies,

I was just notified that a long term friend with a breast cancer history has been diagnosed with this and is in hospice. It seems like a horrible form of meningitis caused by cancer. It is not something I had been aware of or that has been discussed as a possible "thing". Not trying to cause anyone undue concern just trying to get more information before I ask my doctor at my next visit.

Yikes! Carcinomatous meningitis is another rare late-stage cancer effect that goes from a tumor in the body to meningitis in brain or spinal cord. I have a friend whose lymphoma metastasized to two brain tumors but they are shrinking!

I am so very sorry to hear this about your friend. I have never heard of this. Sending her and her family and friends hugs and prayers.

Thank you. She has a small breast cancer non-profit in Oregon called coastbusterswalk.org that she had just started with a friend in the last few years and it was getting quite a following. Some great videos about her online Sonia Graham. I will never be able to thank her enough for introducing me to a rock group called The Dollyrots with their remake of "brand new key" which gets me through my daily walk.

Thank you. Her husband just said that she will probably be gone today. It stinks, she was a brilliant funny - quirly lady.

Mine was Sonia Graham who lived in Oregon. Her husband wrote a fantastic Obit. about her "crowd surfing" and being a "punk"

No, same thing, different friend. I met my friend here, in this group.

so sorry to hear about your fried. This is a late stage occurrence that develops in multiple solid tumor (like breast) and blood cancers.

Very different from brain Mets.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and and your friend. 🙏
