I’m told the dose can be adjusted I’m to see oncologist July 8 th
I have written some posts about this drug. It worked well for me for a year. Please read my posts and good luck!
I’ve been on this for 8 weeks …1 week on 1 week off…3000 mg…so far no major problems!
I have been taking Xeloda for a few months and I have no major side effects. Slight peeling of finger tips. I am taking 2 tablets twice a day. I know that other people take a lot more but my oncologist and I always thought that if you can accomplish the same thing with less , so much the better. Good luck to you!
I've beeen on it since Feb this year. I only take 3 tablets per day (1500 mg) to keep my hfs , which I developed immediately, under control. Otherwise all good
I am on my second cycle -- 7 days on 7 days off. There is research that someone else linked that says that schedule is as effective as 14/7 but side effects are less. I am also on 2000 mg/day (two 500 mg in the morning, two in the evening). So far no side effects. Two tumor markers were normal after first cycle, the CA 27-29, which is most diagnostic for me, was still high but only by a couple of points.
The NP with this practice said she loves Xeloda, an older med, because it works well, for a couple of years, and side effects aren't terrible.
