Intense week!

The most upsetting thing so far this week has been the death of our cat, Trey! She died last night and my husband buried her this morning, next to where her mother Tippy is buried. They were both born feral, and I grabbed Trey and fought off her mother about 16 years ago as she had a nasty wound on her back. Vet found an insect larva there removed it and we took her home and fed her kitten formula until she could ear cat food, It took a long time for her to trust us, and she was a very special pet.

Today I saw the oral surgeon (MD + DDS) who has been treating my ONJ. We have both been glad it was found early, when I just had one spot at the back of mylower jaw. Today was justacheck up and after Xrays and examining my mouth, he said all good and no need to schedule any more follow up appts! he knows I will call if anything else shows up!

Yesterday I hadan MRI, ordered by my onc. I was surprised that the order was for an MRI of my abdomen only! Apparently she was concerned about my liver and spleen. MRI report was in my Patient Portal mid-afternoon. Some tiny not well visualized spots in my liver and spleen. No diagnosis. I'll be glad to hear what my onc thinks.

Tomorrow I have an appt with the neurologist I've seen just once before. Guess it's a follow up, too. I have neuropathy, and had a single, small met show up on the surface of my cerebellum. Treated with radiation, can't think of the name of it right now, a single treatment of very focus rads. That likely accounts for mybalance issues, along with neuropathy.

So much crap comes with this cancer plus aging body! I'm going to watch some TV and relax.

Hugs to all,

Pam

Sorry your having such a week, my elderly dog is at the vets right now having dental extractions, so I understand the stress. Losing our pets is an added stressor we don't need. I have only been on this journey for 8 months but I have found like you that all the appointments seem to gravitate to each other and before you know it you have a really full week, hopefully followed by a quieter one. Definitely watch TV ( something nice) and relax until the busyness is over.

I'm so sorry about the loss of your cat. Losing a pet is so difficult. She sounds like she was well loved by you and your husband. I'm also sorry about the health issues you have been experiencing. Hope your oncologist has some answers and good solutions. You are such a strong woman and I know you will keep fighting. You inspire me. Sending hugs and prayers.

oh I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your cat. Take heart though that she had the best life. With our lives dealing with cancer there are so many ups and downs. Just be kind to yourself and do the things that bring you joy x

So much going on for you. Hope all your doctor visits bring you good news. This is such a complex illness, which adds to the stress...sigh.And sad to hear that, on top of everything else, your cat passed away. Our much loved cat died several months ago and we're still grieving.

I am truly so sorry about your cat. What a special little girl and what a great story! Of course, losing a pet is always hard. But given our situations, it has an added level of pain😻😻😻. I lost my little guy last year. I get it.

I hope so much anything revealed in these scans can be easily and quickly dealt with 😻

Losing Trey is tough. We love them like family. They are family. It sounds like he would have known how very much he was loved. Hugs, Hannah

I am so sorry and sad for the loss of your cat. The name of the brain radiation was probably cyber surgery or gamma- knife or stereotactic. Anyway, are you getting the every 3 month brain MRIs following that? Wish you the best, thanks for sharing here. 🌺❤️🌺

Thank you! Iam feeling alot better now than when I sent that post. Purring cats gives so much relaxation! And it was hard to lose track ofthese things.
