I think the incisions from the carpal tunnel surgeon are healing well--no pain, redness, oozing. I also think the coordination in my right hand is getting a little better, just what I was hoping for! Strength may be a little better, too. Gettting earrings on easier, and penmanship better (never very good!)
Today I've not needed my walker at all in the house. Not using a cane either. Finding it easier to stand up. Not related to hand surgery.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Thanks! Yesterday we dog sat, big loveable yellow lab, belongs to youngest daughter's boyfriend, who drove down to IN to see Notre Dame football, LOL. He's as sweet as his dog! We think we owe him as much thanks for trusting us with his dog as he gives us for doing it! We're real animal lovers and miss having a dog, but at our ages and state of health, it doesn't seem fair to let a dog get attached to us................... but if an aged dog became available, we'd probably jump at the chance to adopt it, lol. Dogs and cats brought us together, a long story, maybe I've already told it!
No you need to tell us that story again. We ended up with our sons dog after he divorced and he needed our help with his German shepherd/husky and our 2 grandkids when he deployed. It’s a reason to get up and move. We’ve never had a dog but love our Sig that we’ve had for 5 years. He’s getting on for 13. My son has another dog now and will retire after 20 years as a W3 Blackhawk pilot/ maintenance test pilot. He’s hoping to transition to the airlines. We moved from California to Olympia Wa 5 years ago and live 5 minutes away. So now tell us your story!!
OK, you asked for it, LOL. Both of us are retired now, but we met not long after I moved to this small rural town, called to a local church to serve as clergy. and not long after I got here, or church was broken into and robbed one night. Now hubby was the police officer who responded to our request for help. He was raised Roman Catholic and was so offended that somebody would rob a church that I thought if he found this robber(s?) he'd give them a real beating, in other words I thought he was a jerk! But he lived right around the corner from the church and we kept running into one another. Pretty soon I noticed that when he was walking his dog, every loose dog and cat in the neighborhood was following them, sometimes quit the parade. Plus, he seemed to know all their names! As a real animal lover myself, I believe that these pets are great judges of character, LOL. We kept running into one another and after almost a year, he offered to take me to the area's best bicycle store and help me pick out a good bike. He came to pick me up in a 1950-ish Jeep, military model, no roof. We had a good time and started dating and very soon realized we were in love! We got married right after the New Year, for tax reasons, lol. we've been married for 21 years and haven't regretted it for a second. We're both pretty direct and sometimes clash a bit but we're on the same page about the things that really matter in a marriage like money, family, pets (big surprise), temperature of the bedroom, etc. Between us we have 3 grown daughters, and they are are great about us. His four year old grandson drowned about 4 years after we married and that tragedy really brought us all together! So that's our story, or at least part of it! He supports me and I am as sure of that as I was of my parents when I was a child, Feel lucky we found one another and my greatest fear about this cancer is him dying before me!
What a lovely story! I think your description of him as the pied piper of the village is the best. I can almost picture him, as being Scottish my sister was a policewoman, my Uncle detective inspector and cousin was in the CID. They used to say the scots were the policeman of the world. There’s a sense of fairness in someone who chose that career and it tied beautifully with your love of God. It’s wonderful when you find your soul mate. I understand your fear of losing him first as I’m not sure I’d want to go on without mine. Last year I almost gave up but he brought me a poached egg on toast every day until I had to get up even for just a change in diet lol. Thank you so much for sharing your story or as you say a snippet of it. Chris Xx
Glad your hand is healing well and you have more mobility in it, that's great news. Also, so happy you are getting around better. Hope you keep improving. Sendings hugs.
Definitely worth celebrating! When I want to have a drink to celebrate I may have a nice non-alcoholic beer or a Virgin margarita or mojito. Very refreshing but no issues afterward!
Absolutely! I'm getting a hair cut this coming week, maybe try something a little different. Hair on top thinning, am going to ask about hair piece rather than full wig.
Ah yes! The freedom to simply stand and walk unaided! We cannot under-appreciate that feeling. I’m so happy you’re having such a great weekend and it sounds like your surgery has been a success too. Rejoice!
I had my days mixed up, got stitches removed yesterday, not Tues. Incisions healing well, can stop bandaging them, exposure to the air is good. Apparently healing can continue for up to a year, but mostly in first two months after this carpel tunnel surgery. Their scheduler will phone me to get surgery on left hand and elbow set up. I also asked if their ortho practice has a foot surgeon and have an appt with him next month. When I broke my left ankle in a fall on the ice over 11 years ago, a general surgeon repaired it and while I've seen a podiatrist, I've not seen a foot and ankle surgeon and that foot is so malformed now, it seems like a good idea! I have claw feet on both sides, collapsed arches plus neuropathy. I want to know I've done everything possible for my mobility.
