I just read that Dr. Susan Love died this week. Her breast book is worth owning as a reference re BC, MBC and treatment. I met her at a NBCC conference not long after being diagnosed and found her as impressive in person as in her reseasrch and writing. Her foundation will continue to support research.

Hi! Well done that you met her!

Her book was one of the three reference books I bought when first diagnosed with cancer in 2015. Hers was the one I read from cover to cover. I am sorry that she is gone. Her book was huge help to me.

When I was first diagnosed, at stage IV, I drove from the cancer center to the neearest Barnes and Noble, found the health section and then the cancer section. I scanned every breast cancer book on the shelves and bought the three that most spoke to me! Her book was number 1 of the 3, and I've thought of her often since then. What a marvelous woman!

Exactly like you, I bought three very current volumes on cancer. My favorite by far was Dr Love's book. Even though I do not refer very often to the book now, I think of her as my support doctor and will miss her.

Dr. Susan Love’s book was the first book I bought on breast cancer. I referred to it many times. So grateful she undertook the struggle of changing how breast cancer was treated. Her brave strong voice will be missed.

Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed reading some of her material in past years too. Sad news.

What a week! 2 friends just diagnosed this week, one with anal cancer (please let me know if any of you have experience with this!), and another with lupus. And an ex-colleague died of bc early in the week :( That hit me hard as I did not know it had come back for her. And apparently she only started treatment for it's return in January! I have no idea what happened except the end was fast. A really wonderful person, not that old, who gave so much to her community, gone way too young. It's heartbreaking

Oh so sad. Definitely a hard week with newly diagnosed friends and your ex-colleague passing away so quickly, and young too😪 Condolences to you❤️

Thank you. Insane isn't it?! I still feel like this year is jinxed. Looking for the silver lining somewhere in there! The BIG postive news for the year has been my son graduating and securing a wonderful position! Hallelujah for that to keep me going! xx
