Kyphoplasy

I had kyphoplasy done on my two fractured vertebrae yesterday. I don’t feel much better this morning. I was awake during the procedure and when the Dr pit in the cement in my vertebrae I’ve never experienced such pain. They don’t tell you that before the procedure. Let’s just hope this works and I can get back to normal living. I think my husband is tired of being a housewife! Have a good weekend and hugs to you all!

thank you! I’ve never felt so good, in such a long time. It was a very painful procedure. They don’t tell you that. And they don’t pit you to sleep. I was a big baby, worse pain than having a baby. I can’t drive for 6 weeks, but that’s ok. Hubby had been wonderful all this time. Hugs

on a lite note Sharon… what about the pain from the huge prices for food! 🥰 I’ve gotten tears from worrying about it, especially when trying to stay on healthy recipes!

I wish I could have this done. The surgeon won't do it as he thinks it's too risky with cancer.I'm in the UK

I am so sorry to hear this. I have MBC and that didn’t bother my surgeon at all. Maybe get a second opinion? Is that possible in the UK? I lived there from 1991-1997, enjoyed every minute of it. Best to you. Hugs

Hi Sharon, totally agree that the procedure is very painful which they don’t tell you about. I had the procedure done and they put me to sleep . Had it done to prevent breakage in T6 vertebrae in preparation for cyber knife radiation. Radiotherapy was successful as shrunk tumour from 10.1 to 3. I am in the UK so Andersl ask for a second opinion.

My doctor told me they get better results if your awake. Three days later I’m still sore and I’m still taking pain pills. The pain is barely there but it’s a different pain. At least I can walk further than the bathroom and go to the grocery store. I used to live on Ascot for six years in the 90s and our old neighbors are still great friends. I would have gone to a wedding there a few weeks ago but this prevented me from going 😢 thanks for you kind words and hugs
