NZ cyclone was devastating! A rare National Emergency…

So much rain that we are calling it the Bummer Summer. I safely road out the storm at my BFF Ruth’s house while she skied in Japan… the waves crashed into the sea wall and sprayed over 2 story houses. It was exciting to watch from the safety of her very flash house. I will put up some pics and continue below in the comments if you would like to read along. During this week - I also so my NZ oncologists who took over an hour with me!

amazing! You sounds so energized by the gorgeous natural landscapes & power of nature there. So great that you can be there. Any new perspectives from the NZ doctors, compared to the US ones?

yes miss Lord of the rings! Do you have an objection to NZ? I write about about this in my next post… and even posted a pic with my beautiful Nz oncologist

that’s great, I saw your other post & it sounds like you’re having a wonderful time! Not sure what the reference to Lord of the Rings / objections is in reference to (I’m a big fan of NZ) but maybe that was intended for someone else… 🌸

So glad to see you weathered that awful storm! Those waves must have been something to see. What does your oncology team there think? Any suggested changes to your treatment? Hope you’re having a great time.

national state of emergency… my poor friend lent me her house during the first storm and the stones in her driveway washed away… she managed to quickly pay to get it fixed… two days later the 2nd cyclone washed them away again… but her house didn’t float away like some people!

I feel guilty as I am so lucky on both sides of the world! Very lucky with drs who email me, call in between visits.

you are! I had a mri on Thursday, usually the results are posted within 12 hours, I still have not received the results or a call from my Dr. I’m getting very frustrated. By law in the states there was a law passed years ago about transparency as to why all medical professionals need to have an app so you can check results. This past month has been very frustrating. I live in a town of less than 30,000 and always the cancer center great. And it’s an hour and a half to the city!

At Xmas, My onc in USA who is elderly called me from the radiology reading room when the I needed the results for a surgery needed the next morning but the radiologists went home without it being done! He and the in call rad called me at 6pm to tell me about liver/perineum spread- surgery cancelled of course. Very kind of him to spare me the early morning drive in the next day to only then find out the awful news. He stayed on the phone with me while I was driving til I got home.

I saw this clip on the nightly news! The poor bus driver was trying to steer and the bus is just floating away. That's some scary water if it can carry a bus!

seems both sides of the earth are a mess? And the leaders will not properly address Global Warming? I myself think is just to late
