Day 4 taking Xeloda 2000mg twice daily! Need 🛌 💤! 🥱

Experiencing insomnia with Xeloda. 1:30 am up and struggling to get some rest. Will work with onc and Accupuncturist for solutions.

I was just wondering last night how you were doing. My sleep is completely turned around these past few years. Can’t get to sleep until 3,4,sometimes 5. I do sleep in and am retired, so I just roll with it and most of my appointments are at 3 in the afternoon. Scan days start early though, so that’s always an issue. I hope you get some relief one way or another. I think there are plenty of night owls out there though!

I had to laugh at the 'plenty of night owls out there ' comment, count me in lol! I too am up half the nights & sleep half the days! (not on Xeloda, but Ibrance, Letrozole n Zometa) I too don't have to worry about it too much as I am not working so only an issue when I have early appointments. Guess we just have to roll with the punches as they say!

Yes we do! I really prefer it, except on treatment days and certain family days. My daughter gets upset, but she’s an adult and it’s my life!

Hi Hotlanta,

I wake up early on this drug too and have trouble getting back to sleep. I find listening to an audiobook at low volume through one earphone helps me to drift off. (I choose travel memoirs/biographies as I wouldn’t be able to follow a plot!) Podcasts or music might help as well. Otherwise I would get up and make a hot drink, read for a while until you feel tired again perhaps.

If possible, take daytime naps to catch up when you need to.

Look after yourself.
