xeloda schedule and how long have you been on it?

I’ve been on Xeloda for 3 rounds and wonder what schedule you are on . I take 3 500 mg twice a day for a week then off a week then back on. Wondering if this is the most effective. My onc said he may switch to more traditional 3 weeks on 1 off. Also how are the side effects.?

how are you doing on it as I may start very soon? Glad it is oral but afraid of the side affects

I’m just finishing my 3rd round. So far doing ok with side effects. It’s causing me quite a bit of fatigue. And issues with bowels . But overall not bad. Cancerous Growths I have on my chest are shrinking which is great! I’m one week in one week off Inc may change to 2 on 1 off. What about you?

Hi there, I just wanted to make sure you stated 3500 twice a day. That would mean 7000, which could be even more toxic to your kidneys iand liver. I have been on it since May-ish and was taking 2900 a day. Tumor markers keep increasing - I was at 366 ca and 18.5 for general. Went up 100 point in just a month. However, I had a ct and bone scan one on the 16th and 23rd of September and they both stated stable. Doc thinks that it could just be the capecitabine (generic xeloda). Last appt on the 14th of Nov, he increased it 100 more, so 3000. It is suppose to be based on your weight. Having hard time sleeping. Waiting for the pet scan call, as it will show what is really going on. I am happy that after just 3 cycles your situation is improving, that is just great! I am on 2wks and 1wk off. Others here are also posting recently that they are doing 1500 a day, every day with no time off. That might be a good idea too, as it stays and builds up, I guess to really hit the big C. Depends on your blood work too. Blessings...
