I haven't had either of those results. It doesn't necessarily, mean though that Ibrance is not working. I think it means that you are not tolerating the drug as well as you have in the past. In any case, don't worry. Easy to say I know, but I have discovered that it doesn't help. I believe we will all be ok. They keep coming up with new treatments.
Hi Lulu! I agree with June. This is one of the things our Oncs watch for in our bloodwork to know if an adjustment (most likely in strength) of the med is needed. You didn’t say what mg you are taking. If it is the usual 125mg starting dose they may adjust down to 100 or even 75. If your scans are showing improvement or stable with no progression I doubt they with switch to a different med. Hope this helps. Lin
Decrease in lymphocytes is likely due to side effect of Ibrance and not related to the cancer progression. On your blood work you may also see decrease on WBC and neutrophils. Depending on the values, it may require Ibrance dose adjustment but again, it’s has nothing to with progression
When you refer to SUV, I assume that you’re referring to the results of PET scan. If this is correct, depending on the increase, your oncologist may decide to monitor or to change your treatment.
