My oncologist mentioned this was a very successful drug as it can cross the blood/brain barrier. Though it comes with side effects which are harsher than those from kadcyla which I'm currently taking.
Thanks for posting! I saw this news too and it seems very encouraging. Especially since the drug is already on the market, approved for narrower use, so it’s just a question of expanding the regulatory approval rather than waiting years for trials etc.
For me this is one more reminder that the longer I can hang on, the more treatments will become available.
Perhaps I’m daft- lol - but I get confused with the terminology HER2- positive. It’s used often in this article. I’m ER/PR + (estrogen receptor and progesterone receptor positive) and Her2- (Her2 negative). What on earth is Her2- positive mean? I’m on Piqray and it’s cleaning up my cancer like a maid on steriods !!
