Port and flying

Has anyone had issues going through security with a portacath when flying?

I have my wallet card saying what it is.

We leave in a week and Onc is away. When I asked him previously, when a trip was just a maybe, he said it's not an issue and he has never had to provide a letter and never heard of a pt having a problem.

In any case we are going to the Carribean for a week

Can't wait!!!

(Could not go if bowels were still an issue. )

HiI’ve had a port for three years and I’ve flown many, many times both US domestic and international and I’ve had NO problems. I always carry my port card just in case but never had to show it.

Have a great trip!

Thank you. It is still rather nasty weather in Toronto - looking forward to sitting by the ocean.

I've had my port for 15 years and have never had an issue going through security. Enjoy your vacation!!!

So glad to hear - both that you have had yours for 15 years and that you never had a problem!!
