Fingers crossed for a long run on this first line of treatment. My only tip is don’t get discourage by side effects the first round. My second round side effects were minimal and, now, on my third round, I have zero side effects (except blood count changes but those I don’t feel). Good luck!!

I've been on Ibrance for 4 years and so far it's working great! Initially I took it in the mornings, along with Letrozole, but then I found it was better for me to take it at night when I went to bed. I think the slight nausea I initially felt wasn't so bad when I took at night. That's what works for me at least. I pray she handles it well. It's been a very effective way to fight cancer. Keep up the fight!

I just want to wish your wife well as she starts her Ibrance treatment . I did find the first few cycles took a bit of adjusting to , but after well over 50 cycles , it’s now my new ‘normal ‘ , and I hope I can stay on it for sometime yet ! I have had many of the side effects , mostly in the first two years , but not many in the last two years , however each time , I would seek out advice on here from ladies who had experienced similar , and I somehow got through them . I would recommend your wife takes the tablets after a meal (containing protein and fat ) with lots of water... I constantly have a bottle beside me , even at nighttime! If there is anything she wants to know , just ask on here ...and she would be very welcome to join us on here . Ps .I am on Ibrance 125/Letrozole and have been ‘stable’ for over three years .

HiI started Ibrance 125 in Dec 2020 . I had 1 mouth ulcer and a bit fatigued first few months but now it’s my best friend. Drink loads of water and take in the evening this really helped me. I’ve had no low blood counts or anything and touch wood haven’t had to seek any medical help inc GP since I started. Long may it last. Good luck.

Hi 👋 said hello your wife 🌺 I am on ibrance 125 mg and Letrozole for 36 months , it is a new “normal” life. My recommendation is hear your body. You have fatigue ….stop and restart …and continue. I have job on maintenance at school …is very hard but ….we can.

You have Faith 🙏. I am from Venezuela 🇻🇪 but live in Texas I send a big hug. You can do …..

Ibrance and letrozole were my first line of treatment also. I got 5 1/2 years with it, switched treatment in August 2021. Had some of the usual side effects but nothing horrible. Prayers to your family.

Best wishes and healthy positive vibes to your wife. Ibrance and faslodex are working very well for me. I take ibrance at 9pm every night and that works well for me as I sleep through the worst of the side effects. I drink lots of water and that helps with the fatigue as well as a short walk in the morning. Just remember to care for your wife you have to be kind to yourself too. My hubby needs reminding of that regularly too. Hugs Julie 💜x💜

I've had great luck with Ibrance so far--but I did feel much better after the dosage was lowered from 125 mg to 75 mg. Some women tolerate the higher dosage fine, but I was exhausted. Been on the stuff (with Faslodex and Xgeva) since 2018. Expect frizzy hair and some weight gain--but going to the gym has greatly improved my mood!

I wish your wife luck with Ibrance. She must drink alot of water and taking it at night after dinner works for me. She will probably be very fatigued, so b12 shots can help. I wish her the best! It is a very effective drug. Hope it works for her.

If blood count issues occur, the onc may lower dose and change schedule from one week off to 2.

I have been on Ibrance and Letrozole since November of 2020. I feel it is working very well for me as I have had good scans over the past year and my most recent bloodwork was very good. When I first started taking these meds I had a lot of nausea at night into the morning. It was very unsettling. It was recommended to me to purchase Chimes Ginger Chews to help with the nausea and to make sure I was not taking the pills too late in the evening. I started taking them with my dinner and also used the chews as well as drinking ginger or peppermint tea. Sometimes I would keep crackers next to my bed to eat in the middle of the night if the nausea was keeping me awake. After about a week or so, the nausea disappeared and I have not had it since. I am on the highest dosage of 125 mg of Ibrance. I have never experienced mouth sores which can be a side effect and my white blood counts have never dipped too low, another possible side effect. I have experienced hair thinning on my head as well as lashes and eyebrows and my fingernails would be very thin. These are common side effects as the Ibrance stops rapidly growing cells, including the ones for hair. Supplements like biotin or collagen which would help can interact with Ibrance and may cause discrepancies in bloodwork, so they are not recommended. However, foods containing these ingredients would be helpful. I feel that the side effects I have experienced so far are worth it as the medication is doing what it is supposed to do. I hope your wife is able to tolerate the medication well. I know some people on this site have had to reduce their dosage to 100 mg or even 75 mg if they were having too many issues and have found success with those dosages. To be honest when I first started Ibrance and was experiencing so much nausea I was ready to give up, but my husband kept encouraging to persevere and try whatever I needed to to stay on the medication. You are a supportive husband and I know you will help your wife however you can. Sending hugs and prayers.
