Hello ladies, I have been on Ibrance and letrozole for 5 years now I was MBC at initial diagnosis and I still have my tumor in my left breast, recently I’ve been having pain in my right breast. Could this be the medication ?Mammogram in August was negative as was my PET scan at the end of September. Does anyone have aches and pains from this combo? Thank you

Muscle pain
Thank you, your right I will talk to my oncologist next month and let her know. The reason I had the mammogram is because the PET in March of last year showed it had grown, the scan in September showed it had gone down. This disease is so confusing! My bone Mets was one on the acatabulem. God bless and good luck to you!!
Hi I have similar symptoms. My tumour was in my left breast and I had a lumpectomy- I’ve been on Ibrance for 3.5 years now. But my right breast I do get the odd pains from. I wonder if this is the exercise I do (yoga). With 3 monthly CT scan he said a mammogram is not necessary but I am not sure. Like you I may bring this up again.
I had terrible ages and pains in my joints while on letrozole. Alot of stiffness too.
I have a lot of joint pain and stiffness in the morning on letrozole and Ibrance but once I am moving around, I feel better. I had been taking a turmeric supplement and that helped a lot but my doctor told me to stop taking it as it could interact with the Ibrance. I agree if your scans are good, then it could just be from the medications. I am so happy you have been able to stay on these meds for 5 years. That is my goal!
I also have joint pain in the morning, and the more I move the better I feel. I put tumeric powder in my smoothie which my doctor said was ok, but not the supplement. Take care and God bless.
Same here, been on Ibrance 125 and letrozole since June 2018 with bone and lung mets. Gradually got stiffer in the mornings when waking up but better when I start moving although still have muscle aches throughout the day. ‘Do a bit, rest a bit’. Been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in knees and rheumatoid arthritis in wrists…believe this is result from letrozole. My original and subsequent tumour is also in my left breast and I also get occasional striking / dull ache on my right side although I am told it is clear. As suggested, report anything to your oncologist so that it can be looked at in your next scan.
Mammograms are useless - scans are better - I was told via mammo that all was well…well it wasn’t they reported shadow was scar tissue when it was tumour!
I get a lot of pain across the bottom of my shoulders and up my spine to the back of my head.
I told the oncology nurse about this. I then got a call to go for mri on my spine, then to go into hospital as pain got worse, had ct on my head. Result confirmed bone mets in my spine in those areas but not progressed but significant wear and tear at top of spine and neck. Ct of head revealed bone mets in front lobe but reassured not penetrated to brain or blood stream.
I think as long as we know or reassured about the origin of the pain, then we feel better and can deal with it.
Take care and keep going!!
