Diagnosef with BC in 2011, MBC in 2018. Last month's CT Scan results show sclerotic bone growing around the two tumors on my spine. Oncologist says this is a good thing. Any thoughts, experience, or input? Please and thanx in advance!

Sclerotic Bone Around Tumors

I have no idea if it's good or bad but I know I have seen this on my scan results. I have many of these in my spine too. Been stable for 3.5 years now. Full scans and long xrays on Thursday. So.... Fingers crossed.
I believe that is a good thing. I have seen that on one of my scan reports, too, for a lesion that was radiated, and the radiation oncologist said that was good.
Sclerotic is great!! That means healing bone. The alternative is lytic, which means holes punched out from mets eating the bone.
Yes, I have been told the same, sclerotic growth is not good in normal circumstances, but with bone mets, it shows the bone is healing/growing over the mets
Hi to all, My Pet scan report is in French and says as regard of my bones:
non-hyperbollic scarring osteocondenssantes lesions - complete metabolic response
I used google translate to get as close as it could be in English.
My onc said it's what 70% of patients under ibrance should expect - and it lasts median 20 months.
I suppose this what stable means.
