I'm writing on behalf of my grandmother who passed yesterday from her breast cancer. However I have an untouched box of Ibrance 100mg in the original shipping box that none of her doctors can do anything useful with. I know how hard it is to get, and how expensive, so I wanted to reach out here to hopefully connect to someone who needs it. I'm new to the site but please contact me if you're in the Lehigh Valley area or would like it shipped to you.

Unused 100mg Ibrance?
I had a similar situation when changing medications. I took the meds to my oncologist on my next visit and they were very pleased to take it. I have also been on the receiving end from them when my Verzenio was running late. They gave me a couple weeks supply. All ID had been removed. I figure they run into those needs regularly. My sympathy in your loss.
So sorry for your loss and thank you for your kindness in wanting to share the Ibrance with someone in need.
I’m so very sorry to read of your loss. I’m sure anyone living in your area on this dose of Ibrance would be happy to have it - what a kind thought.
Story to hear of the loss of your grandmother. You are so very thoughtful to think of sharing her unused medication with someone in need. 🤗
I am very sorry for the loss of your grandmother. It is very sweet of you to offer the unused Ibrance. I am very surprised that your oncology office would not take it if it has not been opened. I hope someone will reach out to you that is able to use it. Sending you some hugs
I’m very sorry for the loss of your grandmother too. That’s very sweet of you to be taking care of her things and thinking of putting this expensive medicine to use. Actually you reminded me I have a full box of unopened too! I had asked my doc about it and she said to hold into it because I was in transition of switching meds. I am wondering if you call the office again and ask if you can talk directly to your grandmother’s nurse. (Instead of the office staff). I’m sure they’re not supposed to take meds back from patients (hence the official answer of disposal) but perhaps the nurse could accept it discreetly.
Another idea is to hide the box labels, address it to the doctor, take it to the oncologist’s office, and say you have a gift for the doctor.
Around here doctors will not accept unused meds either. I've asked more than once. It may be illegal to give Rx meds away. Something to consider doing if you end up mailing it is to take all identifying info off the packaging and enclose a note saying something like "I really enjoyed your visit. I did find these pills where you said they might be and sure hope they get back to you okay. Hugs, Joanie I am sorry about your grandmother's death. I hope you and your family are surrounded by love and support.
Hi Csummers,
It is with great sadness to read of your loss of your grandmother.
My boyfriend (at the time) gave me my white blood boost shots at $1000 each. He was ahead of the oncology and hematology department of the hospital. The nurse let him take the 5 shots to his home to give me the shots. I found out he didn't know how to give a shot. I told him he needed to inject the liquid s-l-o-w-l-y. After the 4th one there was a noticeable positive change. I donated the last shot for another patient as not everyone can afford what is needed for health support. But he is a doctor so the syringe still being in a box and kept in the fridge, was still good and he could get it back for another use. Try to take the pills back to a doctor or a nurse. I'm not sure now a days the medication will be accepted. I know going to medical school as a medical specialists (tech) and being a former police officer the law does not allow medication to be used by another.
I too try to help where I can. I donated my walker with brakes, extra padded seat and basket back in 2004 for another patient. I'm not sure used medical equipment can be used by others when there are so many contagious diseases. I gave my wigs to my cousin who also got breast cancer. When I did electrolysis and reverse electrolysis I transplanted hair folicles so cancer patients could have eyebrows for not cost. I worked with Nordstrom's to provided makeup for cancer patients.
Very nice that you care to help others, -GH
Hi, i’m sorry to hear about your grandmother. It’s great to pass the medications on especially because things like I Brance are very expensive. I have two suggestions I belong to a metastatic breast cancer group and I put out an email to people to see if they need it or they know anyone who does. I was able to pass him on and in the past I was the recipient of some from a friend. The second thing is don’t necessarily call your doctors office. Bring it with you to your next oncology appointment and see what happens. When I switched medications my oncologist gave me a months supply until I could get the drugs. I know they use them. I think the worst thing to do would be to destroy them. Good luck
I realize that you don’t have an oncologist but maybe you can get in touch with your grandmothers And talk to him personally.
My condolences on the loss of your grandmother. At a time when you should be thinking about your Grandmother's celebration of life services, you are thinking to help others. That is commendable, and we need more compassionate people😇 like you on this earth. You are a blessing. May GOD bless you, and give you, and your family comfort during your time of loss. I send you many virtual hugs🙏
Sending deep sympathy & compassion to you & your family in your loss. 🙏❤️🙏
Twice when my Ibrance prescription didn't go through the oncology nurse practitioner gave me three weeks' supply (1 round), with ID removed. (I hated to think whose prescriptions they were and what happened to that person.) When I was taken off Ibrance, I had just filled a monthly prescription so gave it to the nurses, and they were grateful. It may be against the law, but it is a life saver for someone else. I hope you can find a way to give it away. Hmm....you can send it to one of us whose doctor or nurse will take it?
